The Physical Therapy Department at UT Southwestern’s School of Health Professions presents the residency educational series for the clinical community. This series utilizes a clinical reasoning model and emphasizes evidence-based examination and treatment. The programs provide the participants with the opportunity to use current clinical decision making frameworks to assist them in analyzing neurologic patients in the areas of acquired brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, lower motor neuron impairment, progressive movement disorders, vestibular dysfunction, and the pediatric neurologic patient. The program is a blend of classroom and laboratory activities including hands-on patient interaction. The small class size offers opportunities for in-depth discussion between faculty and participants. The goal of the series is to advance clinical practice by preparing expert clinicians in the field of neurologic physical therapy. In addition, the series is designed to prepare clinicians to sit for the ABPTS Neurologic Specialty Exam.
